Inspired by the many rural areas and the communities that grow in the Smoky Mountains, I wanted to capture the feel of the rustic, free spirited style of the lead character and her upbringing. Balancing the many layers of warm, autumn colors with the vibrant shades of purples and blues of the Smoky Mountain sky brought life to the set and lights of this show. The detailed wood grain on the barn aesthetic around the stage set the scene for this world of hard working, country men and women and made the audience feel cozy and apart of the story like the family and neighbors sitting on their porches watching these characters grow before their eyes.
