For this powerful and timely drama, I wanted to combine a symbolist style while capturing the grounded realism that comes with the content of the show. Since the goal was to be in the round, I wanted the audience and the cast to be fully enclosed by the idea of imprisonment and how meeting like this made way for such impactful decisions such as Brown v. Board of Education and the Rosenburg Trials.
